Full-time position available in Alamosa. Primary responsibility of the position will be to assist medical providers by following a standard set of protocols for renewal of prescription medications. This includes responding to phone calls and questions from pharmacies and patients, reviewing medical record patient charts for prescription protocols for refill or denial of prescriptions based on these protocols. Recording criteria for medical provider to review and approve prescriptions, following up and keeping record of all prescriptions received. Prior authorizations through patient’s insurance company will be obtained when required and record of tracking system for all prescription denials and approvals will be kept.
Qualified candidate must have intermediate knowledge and understanding of information technology associated with Electronic Health Records and demonstrate accuracy and high attention to detail. Current LPN or RN Colorado license is required and one year of clinic nursing experience. Bilingual skills preferred.
