Alamosa Family Medical Center

About Alamosa Family Medical Center

Alamosa Family Medical Center has been providing high-quality family health medical services since 1988. It is part of Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc., a company established in 1976. It is located downtown, close to the Valley-Wide Pharmacy and just across the street from the Adams State University Nielsen Library. Both the clinic and the Pharmacy serve all the surrounding communities of Alamosa County, Rio Grande County, Conejos County, Costilla County, and Saguache County.

Alamosa Family Medical Center offers medical education and training to residents in an accredited Family Medicine residency program. We also provide high-quality, safe, effective, and integrated health care services to anyone crossing our threshold, especially to patients from the medically underserved categories, and veterans.

Why Choose Our Alamosa Clinic for Your Family’s Healthcare Needs?

Here, you will find family practice care for all your family members, no matter their age. Our Alamosa clinic offers Obstetrics (OB) to care for women before and after childbirth, continuing with pediatric care for your newborn through all developmental stages.

Through the use of special programs like Bright by Three and Reach Out and Read, we promote early childhood literacy and love of books and reading. These have become a standard part of early childhood primary care, having been offered in Valley-Wide clinics since 1998.

We also offer ancillary services for breastfeeding education and have made  a private lactation support room available to the general public. Family Planning services are available as well, to help you decide what is best for your family planning goals. We offer easy access to FREE pregnancy testing and confidential consultations to teenagers. FREE HIV screening services and a full spectrum of STD testing and treatment are available in a safe and confidential clinical setting.

We take a team-based approach to your care. Every time you need our services, your primary care provider, nurse team, and support staff will ensure a pleasant visit and provide care for your acute, chronic, preventive, reproductive and behavioral health needs. We also offer immigration medical exams.

Our case managers can help you select a Primary Care Provider and/or help you look into some insurance or health coverage options if you do not currently have insurance. They can also evaluate you for Medicaid or Medicare eligibility.

All Valley-Wide Health Systems sites, including Alamosa Family Medical Center, are now on an Electronic Health Records system. This allows for immediate access to your health records in any other Valley-Wide medical, dental, physical therapy or anticoagulation clinic. Valley-Wide Health Systems can also send your prescriptions directly to your chosen pharmacy electronically.

In other words, we do everything necessary to help you receive the treatment you need, as soon as possible. But, in order for that to happen, we need something from you: call our office at (719) 589-3658 and schedule an appointment! Our knowledgeable and dedicated staff will take care of the rest.
