Office Ergonomics

October is Physical Therapy Month. Since COVID started we have been working from home, having meetings via Zoom or generally sitting more. In honor of Physical Therapy month, your Physical Therapy staff would like to help you improve your workspace and ergonomics.

Office ergonomics is extremely important! A comfortable work space can help your body feel its best. Give your sitting work area a makeover with the visual guide below. It is important to maintain proper posture at your work station. Improving ergonomics in the office is not difficult, and provides great benefits: An increase in employee comfort leads to improved productivity and lowers your risk for work-related injuries. By applying the ergonomic principles outlined in this article, you'll be on the path to long-term success.

Here are some exercises to help prevent work place injuries and fatigue.

1. Neck AROM (up/down, look side to side and ear to shoulder)

2. Shoulder shrugs

3. Wrist flexion/extension (down/up)

4. Open/close hand

5. Get up and move every hour
