Family planning allows individuals and couples to plan, anticipate and attain their desired number of children (including no children) as well as the spacing and timing of their births. It is achieved through use of contraceptive methods and/or the treatment of involuntary infertility.
Valley-Wide is ready to help you with your family planning needs. If you are currently pregnancy or planning to become pregnant, Valley-Wide offers quality obstetric (OB) care. If you are not wanting be pregnant, then our providers can help you with your birth control or contraception management needs. Contraceptive management can help avoid an unintended pregnancy or help time pregnancies. A woman’s ability to space and limit her pregnancies has a direct impact on her health and well-being as well as on the outcome of each pregnancy. Valley-Wide providers and the care team want to help you reach your family planning goals. Our staff are knowledgeable on the various forms of birth control methods including long-acting reversible contraception (LARC). Below are descriptions of some of the current LARC methods. LARC methods have become popular because they are safe and more cost-effective, have less maintenance and better compliance rates which can make them more effective. And because they are reversible, you can still become pregnant when you are ready.
What are you doing about birth control?
- 85 out of 100 sexually active women will become pregnant within one year when not using contraceptive.
- In Colorado, 35.9% of pregnancies are unintended (2011).
- There is a safe and effective birth control method for every woman!
Long-Acting Birth Control Methods, or LARC methods, include:

Liletta is a is a hormone-releasing IUS (otherwise known as an IUD) that is placed in your uterus to prevent pregnancy. Liletta works the same way as Mirena and Skyla, by releasing a steady level of the hormone levonorgestrel into the uterus.
